I know somebody will ask if that GEV works on water so here it is. I had to modify it a little to keep the nose up and my bath is nothing like big enough for it to build up enough speed to generate a proper cushion of air, but you can see the general idea. The original build is here /watch/oRsyyo_tXUaty If you have a question it is probably worth reading this video description first because the answer may already be here. To help you find my videos I made two search guides /watch/wgcHOoOSBecSH or /watch/kRYwkwgU4jZUw or checkout my playlists page /user/GrandadIsAnOldMan/playlists?flow=grid&view=1 Here are some other people's GEVs John Ryland /watch/o9FV6kBZWICZV Gábor Rudas /watch/YSeBDpcX_USXB Mark Hoyle's video about John Schuster's vehicle /watch/Q8WdzVtHs9iHd Hers is a Wikipedia link for more information http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_effect_vehicle It is the same effect that you see in spectacular racing car and racing boat crashes where the front is flipped up in some form of accident, the airflow gets underneath and flips the car or boat high in the air. Here is a typical example /watch/gLANZm93MmB3N and another /watch/YaKeacP0C4f0e The trick with a GEV is to control that effect. They are just the packaging that my local supermarkets use for pizzas. I use them because they are free and would otherwise be thrown away. You could use any polystyrene or styrofoam packaging you can find or even buy foam board from model shops. The foam I am using is about 5mm thick. I have over 2000 videos on YouTube covering a wide range of subjects. To find them follow my search guides /watch/wgcHOoOSBecSH or /watch/kRYwkwgU4jZUw or see my playlists page /user/GrandadIsAnOldMan/playlists?flow=grid&view=1 Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by anybody who wants to try themselves. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap. /user/GrandadIsAnOldMan
