Today I'm test out Molly Baz's recipe for Blackout Chocolate Banana Bread developed from the Bon Appétit Test Kitchen. This chocolate banana bread is more of a chocolate banana cake thanks to its incredibly rich and fudgy taste. The banana flavor holds up well against the darkness of the chocolate. Including a bit of sour cream adds additional richness and some tanginess (you may remember that Rick's Chocolate Blackout Cake also used sour cream in the mix); sour cream in chocolate cake is one of my favorite "secret" ingredients! Like most quick breads, this chocolate banana bread comes together super quickly whether you have a stand mixer or just a hand mixer.
