I had a VERY rough time with the early postpartum period. I felt: Unsupported. Clueless. No one was giving me the right answers. I was in a lot of pain physically and mentally from the c-section and nipple pain I felt everything I was doing was wrong. I felt weak and looked down on I was scared I was doing the wrong thing. Karim was sick and I didn’t know. We also had the wrong latch. This difficult path is the reason I became a lactation consultant a year later, worked in the field, and created the courses and this page. Today I can say out loud that I am proud of my breastfeeding journey, but it would not have happened without a lot of support. This support does not exist around many mothers. For this reason, I will NEVER shame a woman who couldn’t breastfeed because I KNOW it can be so hard. Tell me, is there anything in my journey you didn’t know?
