In which I teach Japanese by breaking down the dialogue in Episode 1 of Sailor Moon S (Ep. 90 in the total series) one word at a time. Ideal for Intermediate-Advanced Japanese learners. For the love of God, PLEASE study more!!! 問６：(Question 6) [transphobic part redacted] うさぎ：こりゃ　参ったー Korya maitta I'm so screwed. いくら何でもこの点はマズイよね？ Ikura nandemo kono ten wa mazui yo ne? This is a bad grade, even for me. パパやママが見たらなんていうか？ Papa ya mama ga mitara nante iu ka? What'll my parents say when they see this? それより、レイちゃんに見られたら．．． Sore yori, Rei-chan ni miraretara... Or even worse, what if Rei sees this? こういうときに限って会うよねレイちゃんって人は Kou iu toki ni kagitte au yo ne, Rei-chan tte hito wa I always seem to bump into Rei at the worst times. いったーい。 Ittaaaai. Owwwww... レイ：うーさーぎー！ Uuusaaagiiii! レイ：んもう～うさぎったらボケとつったってるんだから！ Nmou, Usagi ttara boke to tsuttatterun'dakara! God, Usagi, why'd ya have to space out in the middle of the sidewalk?! うさぎ：レイちゃんの方こそ！ぼけぼけ ぼけ作だったじゃないのよ！ Rei-chan no hou koso! Bokebokeboke-saku datta ja nai no yo! Look who's talking, Rei! You're the spacy-space case! どいて！ Doite! Move it! レイ：まあ... そんな点だったんじゃめげて当然かもね。 Maa... Sonna ten dattan ja megete touzen kamo ne. Well, with a grade like that, I'd be depressed, too. うさぎ：悪かったわね！ Warukatta wa ne! Well, ex-CUSE me! レイ：でもうさぎは勉強以外にいいとこがいっぱいあるから、気にしない方がいいわよ。 Demo Usagi wa benkyou igai ni ii toko ga ippai aru kara, ki ni shinai hou ga ii wa yo But you have many other redeeming qualities, so I wouldn't worry about grades if I were you. うさぎ：あらっいつものレイちゃんらしくない。 Ara! Itsumo no Rei-chan rashikunai. Whoa! You don't sound like your usual self, Rei. レイ：そう？ Sou? Really? ね、うさぎの将来の夢って何？ Ne, Usagi no shourai no yume tte nani? Hey, what are your dreams for the future? うさぎ：夢か．．． Yume ka... Future-dreams, eh? あたしはごちゃごちゃしてわかんないなー Atashi wa gochagocha shite wakannai na I'm so scatterbrained I have no idea. レイちゃんは？ Rei-chan wa? What about you? レイ：あたしは．．．シンガーソングライターに　モデルに　素敵な声優さんに Atashi wa... shingaa songuraitaa ni moderu ni suteki na seiyuu-san ni I want to be... a singer-songwriter, a model, a hot voice actress, え～と、それから．．． Eeto, sore kara... And then... うさぎ：それから？ Sore kara? And then...what? レイ：や～だよ！ Yaaa da yo! Ohhh, stop! 愛する人の奥さん！なんて言えるわけないじゃな～い Ai-suru hito no okusan! Nante ieru wake nai janaaai I can't say, "I wanna marry my Prince Charming!" うさぎ：言ってるって。 Itteru tte But you are saying it. レイ：うさぎは、いつかまもるさんと結婚するのよね。 Usagi wa itsuka Mamoru-san to kekkon-suru no yo ne. Well you're gonna marry Mamoru someday, aren't you? うさぎ：いや～ん！恥ずかしい恥ずかしい恥ずかしい！ Iyaaan! Hazukashii hazukashii hazukashii! Eeee! Stop embarrassing meee! レイ：あんなひどい点じゃ、まもるさんの方が恥ずかしいわよ。 Anna hidoi ten ja Mamoru-san no hou ga hazukashii wa yo With those grades, Mamoru's the one who's gonna be embarrassed. うさぎ：きた～！ Kitaaa! She went there! レイ：まっ勉強がすべてじゃないけど、将来のため、 Ma! Benkyou ga subete ja nai kedo, shourai no tame, Well! School isn't everything, but your future is important. うさぎはまもるさんのためにも、もうちょっと頑張んなさいよ。 Usagi wa Mamoru-san no tame ni mo, mou chotto benkyou'n'nasai yo You really do need to study more, for your future and for Mamoru's sake, too. じゃ、また後で。 Ja, mata ato de Well, see you later. 元気出して、うさぎ。 Genki dashite, Usagi Smile, Usagi! それだけが取りえなんだから。 Sore dake ga torie nan dakara That's one thing you're good at! うさぎ：もう．．． Mou...
