I read so many comments about the measurement . If you have big family take equal measurement for all dal . for a example 1/2 cup of dal means you should take all dal in same size .one more thing generally dal can generate gas in your system ,so must add cinnamon and fennel seed it will help you for good digestion process.

Urad Dal - 2 table Spoon
Raw Rice - 2 table Spoon
Cinnamon Stick - Little
Kashmir Chilli - 1
Ginger - Little
Garlic - 2
Onion - 1/4 Piece (Medium ) Chopped
Fennel Seed - 1 tsp
Salt to Taste
