The Opening Range Breakout Trade cheat sheet - https://eminimind.com/opening-range-breakout-trade/ Become a funded trader at http://EminiMind.com/topstep The Opening Range Breakout Trade or 15 ORB for short is an incredibly easy way to get started in trading or add another trade to your arenol. What I've found is that days that the market rips form the open, it doesn't give many other trade setups, so taking advantage of the opening range breakout trade is really helpful. @johalrealestategroup2 years ago I took the opening range trade this morning of the 15 minutes. Entry at 3850.25, Stop 3816.25, Target was 3870.25, I sold at 3876. Less than a 1.5RR for sure but the bars were so large it was easier to see it was impulsive. Thanks Tim👍 ... 5

@daswagkat6583 months ago First there is a positive range and negative range in 15 mn chart. Positive range we play breack out if breack up but if breack down we wait and play the reintegration of the Range. And the same for negative range.

@paulkennedy43052 years ago Nice trading strategy Tim. Thank you. Question 1) Is a "wick" above the previous high considered a new high or a "close" above previous high considered a new high? ----- Question 2) You say trail the stop to breakeven after a 15 minute bar opens and closes completely above the 1st 15 min bar and you say "wait to trail the stop until the candle makes a new high". So let's say the 2nd 15 min bar is big, but not hitting 20 pts. and the following 3rd 15 min bar is completely Inside the 2nd 15 minute bar. Where do you move your stop and when - if the 3rd 15 min bar is completely within the 2nd 15 minute bar and the 3rd 15 min bar is not making a new high - yet the 3rd 15 min bar has also completely opened & closed above the 1st 15 min bar? Thank you. Paul ... 1

@michaelwilliamson2578last year Thanks Tim. Q: How would this work if you were trading a stock. As an example: If you were using this strategy with TSLA…What would you use as a profit target (as opposed to 20 points), and what would you use as a stop out price? I am going to go back in and back test this strategy but any insight you have would be appreciated. Do you see any challenges that are unique to using this strategy with a stock vs. the ES? ... 1

@naadeshnaidu78144 months ago Hi Tim, you are using 1st 15min of the day or first 15min candle for the NY session? I'm from Singapore so confused with the 1st 15min candle time to look upon. 1

@rafaelw31712 years ago Also what about the fake outs, should I wait until it’s a good set up first to take the trade on the breakout ? Sometimes it will hit the high then immediately drop back down like today .. 2

@rafaelw31712 years ago I have used this strategy for 8 months now and not one bad month but on FOMC meeting days, meeting minutes or when the president speaks, I get killed. I still want to trade those days because the gap up or downs are so big, should I wait 15 mins before the announcements? Maybe even have a 5 or 10 min break out range. 🤔 ... 2
