I have suddenly had several requests for a car that's power comes from a 1kg weight dropping 10 cm and it needs to travel 10 metres. My previous effort only went 5 metres so I had a rethink and remembered a mousetrap car that went 100's of feet so I have based my Mk 2 version on that. My first attempt is here /watch/gHmEsD-SKNUSE Here is a very similar gravity car made from cardboard that I did back in December 2014 /watch/00H97kJDTalD9 If you have a question it is probably worth reading this video description first because the answer may already be here. To help you find my videos I made two search guides /watch/wgcHOoOSBecSH or /watch/kRYwkwgU4jZUw or checkout my playlists page /user/GrandadIsAnOldMan/playlists?flow=grid&view=1 Components 2 x Vinyl Long Playing Records I used a Fibre Glass tube for my axle 1 kg of weights I used kite string I put some hot glue on the axle to help hold the LPs in place but the holes I made in them were a very tight fit anyway. To find them follow my search guides /watch/wgcHOoOSBecSH or /watch/kRYwkwgU4jZUw or see my playlists page /user/GrandadIsAnOldMan/playlists?flow=grid&view=1 Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by anybody who wants to try themselves. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap. /user/GrandadIsAnOldMan
